Innovent Biologics Partners with WeComput to Enhance AI Drug Discovery Platform

Innovent Biologics, Inc., a leading biopharmaceutical company known for developing treatments for oncology, cardiovascular, metabolic, autoimmune, and ophthalmological diseases, has announced a strategic partnership with WeComput. This collaboration aims to enhance Innovent’s Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery platform, combining the strengths and technologies of both companies to accelerate drug discovery and development using AI.

Innovent Academy, the research and development arm of Innovent, will utilize WeComput's molecular design platform, WeMol, to build and enhance its computing infrastructure, thereby speeding up the drug research and development process. WeMol will integrate NVIDIA's BioNeMo to boost the computational efficiency of Innovent’s AI systems. This partnership aims to create a comprehensive AI-driven drug discovery and development system that is efficient, user-friendly, digitalized, intelligent, and automated, which will help Innovent reduce implementation costs, shorten R&D cycles, and improve success rates in developing innovative treatments.

Dr. Kaijie He, Vice President of Oncology Biology and ADC Drug Research at Innovent, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the potential of AI to drive breakthroughs in the pharmaceutical industry. Harry (Hu) Ge, CEO of WeComput, highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, which will advance the application of AI in biopharmaceutical research and foster global pharmaceutical innovation. Innovent, founded in 2011, continues to empower patients with affordable, high-quality biopharmaceuticals, with numerous products already in the market and several more in various stages of development.
